Cristin Milioti, the Tony-nominated leading lady of Once, may soon be sharing the big screen with Leonardo DiCaprio. According to Variety, Milioti is “in negotiations” to join the cast of Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street. The film will go into production later in the summer in New York City, which will allow Milioti to continue her run as Girl in the eight-time Tony-winning musical at Broadway’s Bernard Jacobs Theatre.
The Wolf of Wall Street is based on the memoirs of Jordan Belfort (DiCaprio), charting his rise and fall on Wall Street and his hard-partying lifestyle. Variety reports that Milioti is in talks to play Belfort’s first wife, an Italian-American hairdresser who is heartbroken when her husband cheats on her.
In addition to DiCaprio, the film will star 2012 Oscar winner Jean Dujardin, Jonah Hill and Kyle Chandler. The Wolf of Wall Street will have a script by Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter, formerly a scriptwriter for The Sopranos.
Milioti has appeared on 30 Rock and will play Janet in the forthcoming film adaptation of Mike Birbiglia’s Sleepwalk With Me.
